Upcycled Corduroy Shoulder Bag

This shoulder bag started its life as a skirt. The skirt was handed down to me and the size was wrong, but I fell in love with the fabric and "upcycled" it. It's lined with white cotton printed with blue roses, the pocket on the front matches the lining. It's the perfect size for some clothes for the weekend or all your notebooks for a long day at university. I will probably post it on Etsy later this week.

New Jewelry on Etsy

I also just posted these two necklaces on Etsy:

Whimsical Woodland Tutu Skirt on Etsy

I had a fun photo shoot yesterday for my Whimsical Woodland Tutu Skirt. Though the skirt has been finished for some time, I wanted the weather to be warm and sunny enough for an outdoor shoot with my friend Zoya wearing my creation. I found a gorgeous location in and around an outdoor theatre space I've been working in for the shoot. Here are some of the shots we took:

There are several others on Etsy to show the skirt from a variety of angles and Zoya in many poses.

The Arrival of Spring!

I found some late blooming snowdrops yesterday while doing some prepatory yard work. I also gained a few wicked scratches from a thorn bush!

This bush, to be specific.

Sale!

I just sold my Antiqued Gold Quill Necklace (look down two posts). I had just mentioned about my Etsy to a friend I went to drama school with last week when I saw her. Apparently, she went on and was taken with it. I'm glad she got it, it's one of my favorite pieces.
My "Puck" skirt is finished, though now I'm thinking of calling it the "Whimsical Woodland" tutu skirt. It took longer than I expected because I didn't like the drape of the skirt, so I went back and added more tulle and adjusted some things. Once I find a drawstring for it, I'm having a photo shoot. I'm torn bewteen using a ribbon and using something more rustic looking. I want it to have that lovely surrealistic quality, but I've worked hard to make it look random (much harder than it sounds!) with lots of bits and pieces, layers of scraps I painstakingly shredded. Some in darker bark colors, others in greens with even a bit of plum and extra white gossamer for depth. I'll just keep looking I suppose.

I can't believe it...

PayPal actually takes longer than the US Postal Service. I don't have much experience with online payment methods, but I set up an account so I could use it on my Etsy because it looked to me simple, quick and convieniant. Maybe the word "Pal" in the name misled me so... Anyway, it's taking forever! It would have been quicker to accept personal checks through the post.
Very discouraging. Maybe I will make personal checks a new payment option, I'm just careful about having my name and adress available to people I've never met.

New Jewelry for Sale

I just posted this item on Etsy:

I usually work with silver or copper color schemes, but I love the antiqued gold look! It's called the Antiqued Gold Quill Necklace, it hangs longer (approx. 22 inches) and is fun and stylish, but I think it keeps to the heart of what I try to create: old fashioned charm.

Etsy Sale

The Tapestry Satchel on my site has just been sold! I'm waiting to get my reciept from PayPal and tomorrow or Friday I will send out the bag. The customer is interested in the satchel as an iPhone carrier, a good idea indeed.

Etsy Underway!

I have just set up my Etsy account and posted a few items, please drop by to peruse!
Crafting Birds
I'll be posting a few more items this week in the way of jewelry and bags, next week one of my tutu skirts should be up as well, I'm having a friend model it for me.

jewlery week

I've also been making some jewlery this week that is very hard to photograph, but I need to sell some so I can afford supplies to make more. Here are some of those pieces:

Fleur de lis pendant with amethyst accents on a silver chain.

A new design of mine, wire twist cage with beaded center.

A (I believe) Jasper stone pendant on a hemp cord with twist closure.

More Sad Photo Attempts

I have been trying to make this camera work for me, hopefully these are good enough to put on Etsy.

That is one of the tapestry satchels.
